Ahh, I see, my bad. It blended together last night and I was only counting 5Yes... that looks like a 6th..
Soooo cute, and such pretty colors!!Just thought I would show off how these little peanuts are growing they are a week old, well as of yesterday. Lol.
Do you have a cue for them to go to bed? In my ridiculous setup, i say, lets go goodnight, and they head up... but do you have a separate light you turn off or anything? If so, you could do your cue then put one on the roost, let the others follow. Or bribe them with food!I covered up the gaps between the wood with clear tarps and moved the roost shelves so now the coop looks like pic below.. I just need to clean it up a bit and then add more roost shelves for flock expansion..But I'm concerned I have the nest house about the same level as the roosts
I have the nest house up on bricks so fluffies don't get stuck under and I can inspect for rats... I guess time will tell if they decide to sleep in the nests instead of the roosts!!
I'm hoping since it's a seperate area they will just go to roosts.

No bribes needed, they just headed up to roost on their own no problem with my ramp setup, one even jumped flew up and skipped the ramp altogether haha..Do you have a cue for them to go to bed? Mine always have since about 6 weeks old mother hen shows them how to roost. The other hens I started with always have gone up to roost too.Silkies usually do t roost because their flight feathers are rubbish. Mine are 6 months now and still dogpile despite there being room on the roosts
Mine had D'uccle coop mates... they flapped and tried so hard to fly everywhere with them! They ended up great jumpers though, could clear a 4' jump.Mine always have since about 6 weeks old mother hen shows them how to roost. The other hens I started with always have gone up to roost too.
Maybe yours need to be placed on the roosts at night? Or have you already tried that? Are your roosts too high for them?
