Silkie thread!

Ignore their wings. They are usually tucked properly but this isnt a very good perch and they kept flapping to be stable.

This gentleman who's about a year old is the one I was talking about. His great grandfather was where the black came from. He's a bit sun bleached.

This man is about 5 months old I believe. Not mature yet. He is from just partridge on partridge breeding. Needs better saddle and hackle as well. Comb color isn't bad but it's also not full size yet. Will be nice to see his adult self. Thought he'd be moorhead but he's getting very redheaded.

This was a sport. He was full partridge and came out looking like this. Was super friendly and I would have kept him just for that but I was contacted for a kid friendly rooster so he went to a home to be a pampered lawn ornament.

Your Silkies are BEAUTIFUL. I am not able to tend to chickens.
Broke my hip....husband passed. OH...I MISS THEM. THEY ARE
BEAUTIFUL. THANK YOU FOR SHARING. Aria
TY for the Silkies comment. And, yes, Silkies are very special and almost every chicken keeper can't resist having a few -- turned out to be our favourite birds. We started out with two Silkies as pets almost 13 yrs ago, added & cycled thru several standard size breeds, but always kept 2 or 3 Silkies in the little backyard flock. Now we have one old Dominique hen left from the standard breeds and have switched back to all Silkies again.

So sorry about losing your hubby. My sis lost her 93-yr-old hubby & we lost mom's last surviving sis at 94-yrs-old this year and they were a great loss.

Ouch! Your hip! How are you doing now? I tumbled too in May and broke my right arm humerus bone, got knocked on the forehead for a black eye, & got two purple breasts falling on my chest. Miracle I didnt break a hip or leg. We gotta be so careful in our 80's!

I looked so pretty on Mothers Day

Some more of our 3 newest chicks this year. We played with them a lot as babies since these 3 Silkies probably will be our last chickens to add to the yard. Don't want these sweeties to outlive me. Our very very first Silkie lived over 11 years!
