Good mornin y'all!! Already jamming this mornin'-MAN IT IS COLD!! I am so totally itching to get my silkies...is it April yet? I do have to admitt that I am a little nervous about getting my coop/run right for them. I sure don't want to loose any of my birds. I'm just hoping that it doesn't drop in temps again in April like it did last year. But I now know that I will have the most wonderful people to ask many questions to when the time comes. I'm just soooo ready for the new adventure of the silky world!

If I had a egg eater chicken in there, they'd eat the whole thing, right? The thin shelled egg looks like it might be getting a little bit harder, it is hard to say since the dumb thing is frozen, LOL.... but there is a hole on the end..?

Could it be that something else is trying to eat the egg besides your Silkies? I have accidentally forgotten about an egg I collected a few times and left it out overnight on my fence ledge. In the morning I have found it with a hole on one end. I think a bird or a mouse did it.

I have a question about DE, I was told that it can be used on mites. I just got a chicken and noticed it had mites and I put DE on but now it's sneezing. Is this normal or is it caused by the DE? Also I was wondering the best method for giving baths because i'm always afraid i'll get water in their nose? thanks

Sounds like it breathed in some of the dust.

How long ago was the DE applied?

She must have inhaled the dust. I'd watch her closely. I don't think there's really anything you can do. I think she'll be fine though.
