Silkie thread!

Aw...the momma and baby pics are so cute...
Just wanted to share this quick photo. I have two Catdance Silkies that decided to go broody together. Lucille, the lavender was born last May and Priscilla, the porcelain was born in June. I had gotten them some eggs (we don't have a roo) but none were developing so in the meantime I had a few Wheaten Ameraucana eggs in the incubator. The last of the 4 hatched yesterday so I brought them out to the broodys who clucked happily trying to herd those little chicks underneath them. I checked again this morning and all chicks were contentedly resting under their adoptive moms! Lucille and Priscilla seem to be doing a great job co-parenting their new charges. The pic just shows one curious baby - it's siblings were tucked safely away under the fluff!
He is a lovely roo...
Thank you, guys! Having this little guy definitely sealed the deal for me when it comes to splashes. lol If I had to pick just one silkie color, my favorite would be splash. All the glory to Karen Larson for this cockerel! I hatched him from her eggs. :D Very happy to have him.
Adorable...

Mr. Ace Ventura has now had his first bath ever!!

And he wasn't as dramatic as I thought he would be! He's about 9 months old. I think I'll start my next chicks with this bathing stuff a little sooner. lol

He wasn't much for posing either. I got a couple of nice shots. Ace insisted on taking a nap in the sun. Today was the warmest day we've had for a long time and all the animals were snoozing in the sun!

And look at those feet! Not the greatest feathering around but I was pretty impressed how his feet turned out after a bath. They looked quite sad before and I didn't think they were going to turn out that good.

Now I'm REALLY excited about taking this guy to our first show in April! I mailed the entries today!!

Mr. Ace is quite the handsome fella. Best of luck with him in April!

Thank you. I think I was the last to know about the land slide. I had chicks arrive in the mail and my incubator was hatching out like mad. I never saw or heard the news until late afternoon. I live twelve miles south of the slide. My daughter lives near it but her house is a safe distance.

Thank you again for thinking of me. It touches my heart. Truly.

Amazing portraits!!! not only the almost human look but the way you even catch the reflections in their eyes what makes them so impressive! Really like them a lot, the guys and the photos...

Hi There,
I need some opinions on my new young roo. He is an 8 month old Partridge Silkie roo. I think his colors are beautiful! He has nice skin color, good spacing with his toes. I am just not sure about his comb. So, please be honest! You won't hurt my feelings :) I my not so experienced opinion, I think his good points out weigh his bad. Let me know :) Here is Chewie:
