Silkie thread!

Both background and splashes are lightened. The background of a splash is not (or at least should not be) white
I have been wondering about two Silkies I have that are now about4 months old. I think both are splash but one is almost lavender colored with darker bluish whereas the other is darker all around (darker light areas and black or almost black markings. They would both be called splashed even though one is qite a bit darker than the other?

Another question I have concerns the red roo I have. I don't plan to keep him any longer than to produce some chicks for pets and sell at the farmer's market this fall. He doesn't have a beard.
But...is he really red or a reddish partridge? How can I tell???

As I have just learned - a red looks like Heritage Rhode Island Red. Really dark red. No barring on the wings. If he has barring on the wings and a golden color - or a buff color anywhere - then he is not Red. If he has a black chest then he is Partridge - but a lot of Partridges do not have black chests.. so that doesn't always tell you anything really.

Can you share a picture of him and we can guess?
