Silkie thread!

Thanks ! Scary it put them in water tho.
Trying new things can be scary but remember. They aren't breathing yet if the egg hasn't pipped internally or externally. It only takes a moment. Observe closely then remove and gently dry off. I've done this and the egg still hatched. I had one float with no movement and it was a dead in shell chick. If it floats but you see no movement. Not even a ripple after twenty two days that egg is dead. Also smell it right now. If it is rotten inside, you should be able to smell it.

I have a single Silkie that has been living with my other chickens since she was 3 days old. She is still living with my chickens, and doing just fine. I would say your girl will be fine too. The only time I had problems was when the others wanted to roost way up high on the roosts and she couldn't fly up there. I showed her how to make her way up in stages and now she sleeps up there with the rest - when she isn't being broody that is...
Wonderful that makes me feel much better!

HELP!!! I got 2 new, year old buff silkie bantams, and they are very scared of me. i have to have help with picking them up, and my roo is already showing some 'interest' in them. I don't know how to get them to not be so scared (they are like the size of kittens, newborn) and I need some advice!
