Silkie thread!

Could someone point me in the right direction for learning a good way to trim up my silkies crests? I have one girl especially who cant see a thing. I banded it up today. Since they went in the new coop she was a little lost. I don't want to lose her cuteness, but she is pretty much blind most of the time I think. (she's the one in the back looking at the camera in my avatar. She looks like this right now lol!
She's so beautiful! In the avatar that is she looks hilarious in the big picture. Haha!

is this nornal for my "sizzle?" to have some pink on its comb and pink wattles already developing at around 4 weeks?

Your bird is a Sizzle - which is a cross between a Silkie and a Cochin, bred back to a Silkie to get the blue ears, dark skin, etc?

I would guess you have a boy there - and that is not normal for Silkies, but may be perfectly normal for Sizzles and cross breeds.

I did have one girl (not a Silkie) that had a red comb very early - but she got bit by something right in the middle of her comb and it was irritated. However, she did not grow wattles...

My two Catdance hens and two Sheryl Butler pullets have proven their worth! I hatched eleven chicks. Food coloring identifies the chicks to the mom. The cock I used is my Catdance boy I brought home in Feb. with Bonney and Dumpling. Karen re-homed Dumpling to me and she is my darling 'Dumpy'. I have two chicks hatched by her and three by Bonney. Four by SB Miss Peggy and two by SB Miss Posey. They are very pretty chicks. Nine of eleven have a vaulted skull. So active and vigorous I can hardly believe it. They aren't twenty four hours old yet!
