Silkie thread!

I posted about my three on the end of page 4151 and beginning of page 4152. With pictures. If anyone is interested in taking a look.
I would say 1 and 3 of yours are girls. 2 maybe a boy. I would give it another couple weeks. Mine have more pronounced combs. So I can see a little better the difference. They sure do leave you guessing.

Well that's my guess, too. Thanks! I've had other chicks but not silkie chicks before so I'm still learning them.
These are my first silkie chicks. I get my adults as juvies, so they were already sexed. I know for sure Chance my little black booy I am keeping is a boy. He is ornery. Plus he runs the brooder. Anything scary he tries first, and then talks to the rest to tell them it is safe.

Oh ya I love the little clues that you get when you can study them. I don't have any real stand outs yet. I can't wait. They are so smart and funny and friendly. Mine are 9 weeks old and still with their broody momma.

We are 6 and a half and 8 weeks old today! I am only keeping some, so only some have names. The others all have homes already. :)
Chance, he moves constantly! He is also the boss and very pushy. Talks constantly.
This one is very shy. No matter how much I handle them she is just a quiet chick.

Bell. Bossy Bessie. Something about her screams girl. Her momma is all attitude, she acts just like her.

Gracie. Just the sweetest most adorable chick. Very mellow. Still iffy on sex. And color for that matter. She is a silvery purple color. Really hoping girl.

This little black has a huge comb, so Im thinking boy. He isnt as pushy as Chance.

Captain Curious this one is! Other than chance the very first one to check out new stuff. Hoping that little yellow beak and comb turn blue.

Little shy blue chick. Not sure on sex. Maybe a shy boy.

Pretty set on girl for this one. Very quiet. Reserved.

Sheldon Cooper II Staying here with me. Is the youngest, hence the lack of plumage. Just turned 6 weeks today. May be a girl now that I am getting to know it better.

Thinking girly on this one. Not as shy, but almost zero comb.

I took a look and I am guessing both white chicks are boys and the partridge is a girl

I see some pink in the combs of the two white ones. It will be fun to see what sex they turn out to be

I have been told that the line my chicks came from it is easier to tell which ones are boys pretty early. With yours it could be completely different.

Oh I hope you are right. They only ones that are going to new homes are the ones missing a toe. My roo is missing a toe, so some of the kids are.lol. All the others are staying here until I see how they develop. Btw what do you see that says girls?

Do Silkie males tend to feather slower than the females or is it particular to the chick itself? One of mine has far less feathers (lots of new ones emerging though) than my other two. Its butt isn't quite as fluffy as the other two(I'm guessing because all the feathers aren't there yet. ( Now, it is a lot more noticeable because it is white and that black skin stands out so much...the other two are black and partridge) They are all 8 weeks old.
