x2! Same here, my other chickens are wimps all staying inside whenever the temp drops below freezing but the silkies are out all the time! The silkies don't seem to need them, they don't act like the cold bothers them at all.
So sorry for you loss !
Quote: Silkies lay an ivory coloured egg (the correct term is "tinted." I would say that mine are usually about the size of a medium egg; earl ones maybe a bit smaller. B the time they are two or three, they usually lay large eggs.
LIKE she owns it?! Obviously she DOES.This is Cooper. A very nice woman had her as a house Silkie since she was a day old chick, but has come to the conclusion (after severe asthma and hospital trips) that she is severely allergic to her and needed to give her up. So I offered to bring her into my home =) She just drove 3 hours to come here, and she is doing great! She is such a beautiful black girl, and she's already strutting around the livingroom like she owns the place LOL

Haha yeah I guess she does! She is sleeping now with my older babies who are house bound for the winter. I set the 5 of them up with an excercise pen and her XL rabbit cage in the basement. They all get along quite well!LIKE she owns it?! Obviously she DOES.
