I definantly need to get more wire. Thanks for reminding me. Your chicken chases cats and birds away. How neat. I've been building little fences all around the yard using old pallets, scrap wire cuttings, old boards if wood and corn stocks from last year. I think it's time for a roll of wire. That wire is not cheap here I tell ya.Hi - I have to keep a 2' rabbit fence roll surrounding my raised garden beds to keep the girls from digging there and it also keeps the stray cats from jumping over to use my beds as litter boxes - not to mention I have an Ameraucana that chases cats and wild birds out of the yard just for fun!
I almost got a plastic kiddie pool w/accompanying cover to use as a dust bath. I figured the cover would keep the cats out at night. But it was such an ugly bright neon green so I went with the raised garden box instead and cover w/ a plastic sheet after dusk. If I ever get ambitious - NOT - I can make a wire mesh cover after we finish building our coop add-ons.
Will 7 large eggs fit under a small broody silkie? I was curious if they stay warm enough under her wings and tail? She has 4 under her now, 3 left in the bator.
thanks! I think he is splash,he has a lot of dark splotches. The brown on him is lighting and dirt lol.
He is very leopard spotted in person. I just cannot for the life of me, get it to manifest in pictures. He gets more spots every week, so i am excited to see how it gets later. He was born almost white. We debated on here what color he was because he wasn't buff and wasn't white. He is very silvery gray with dark splashes now. His parents are both blue. Do you think I should be concerned about his comb? I'm afraid it will turn red. It is actually sort of gray and this COLOR lol. Not pink like it looks in the picture. As uniform on his neck and tail as it is. He actually looks columbian.
