Silkie thread!

I have 2 Silkie chicks 12 weeks old, I thought they were both Roo's due to a noise they make that sounded like they were trying to crow.... but I have been looking at allot of Silkie pic's and I have noticed that they are not getting the "ribbons" in their tails like all the Roo's I have seen pic's of. Is it too soon? am I jumping the gun, or do I have some messed up Roo's?

They are usually yellow. But, then, someone said that the whites that are silver based look whiter when they are born. Mine aren't silver based, so I dunno. Time will tell- but the anticipation is gonna kill me. Not really, but I'd like to know

Pam ps- thanks for the compliment!

Thanks. The reason I was asking was because one of the 3 I got yesterday is very light but not quite white. I'm wondering if it'll be white when it grows up.Wondering the sex and what they'll look like when they're grown is definitely nerve racking. The anticipation with Silkies is fun but it drives me crazy at the same time.

Where is all my silkie lovers?! I am new to this sight and just got some new babies and I wanna talk about silkies! lol. I just made a post about them :)
