Silkie thread!

You could try putting them in the nesting boxes to sleep at night so they get used to them. you could also start putting scratch/treats in them to encourage laying in there. Let me know if these are good suggestions otherwise i have a couple more that could help you.

Keep them in the coop for a few days until they get the idea. Then start letting the out in the late afternoon so they have already layed.

Thats what we already do but they just won't lay in the boxes i dont know what to do still

Try placing a couple of golf balls or ceramic eggs in the nest box. I always lock newbies up for a week just so they get a good feel for where ' home ' is. This can be a life saver in the event of them having to escape a predator .

Is it possible to move the boxes to where they are laying? We have the lid of a cat litter box, a board leaning against the wall and part of a plastic tub as nest boxes. Sometimes they lay other places and I just move the boxes to the new site.

Maybe they just lay to the beat of their own drummer? The only thing I can think is that if it is important to you, box them up where you want them to lay. Give them feed, water and a nice layer of straw or bedding in a sheltered area and keep making the area bigger to see if they suddenly think it's kind of nice to lay in a nest since they've obviously been laying wherever for awhile. Then again, maybe you'll just have to learn to enjoy the hunt. :)
