Silkie thread!

i have 2 silkie chicks that hatched the same day but one is still teeny tiny, he/she is usually a spunky (kinda a bully) one while the bigger one is more chill however the last couple days, the little one has really seemed to stop growing and is quite a bit less active, should i be worried?

Could be anything from something simple to treat like pasty butt by cleaning chick vents and adding chick probiotics to drinking water -- to possibly a cocci infection and only a fecal test at a vet can tell you that but also easily treatable if you catch it soon. And sometimes some chicks don't make it and some losses happen. I lost a happy chick to a sudden seizure out of the blue one day and in less than a minute she was gone. I guess experience in raising/hatching chicks gives you a sixth sense to recognize certain behaviors and how to treat. I felt so helpless when I lost some young birds early on. Over the years my vet and I have learned a lot from each other about chickens since I started my little backyard flock and we've got better at diagnoses and I now have a little stock of medicines in the fridge for the maladies I've come to recognize in advance. Raising chicks is not my expertise so I hope you get some advice on here from more knowledgeable owners than me.
 
Baby #1 has finally made its debut lol !!!! Since some of the chick will be black and some chocolate I assume this little one is chocolate ??? Right ???

Does anyone know what a white silkie rooster over a black silkie hen looks like? I will have one hatching tomorrow and I want to know what it will look like.

thanks for your info, i have been checking for pasty butt and they have probiotics too and that all seems fine. they were vaccinated from the store but im not sure if that has anything to do with cocci....he seems to be acting better tonight but still so little compared to his counterpart..i guess time will tell. fingers crossed!!
 

My favorite chicky!! I know its to early to tell but I think its a roo. The comb, although straight for a silkie is bigger than the other 5
