Silkie thread!

Feeling bummed. I can't have roos where I live. Although they are only 4weeks old. I'm pretty sure @ least 4 of my 6 silkies are roos. I 've based this on their behavior and size. I have 4 huge silkies in comparison to other two. 3 of the 4 have large legs; and love to chest bump, chip, and fly into each other. My largest silkie keeps a vigilant watch over all the behavior but doesn't peep at all. I am crossing my fingers the other two are hens as I have 4 very large BO and I would not want them picking on one silky. How easy are silkies to rehome? (Crossing fingers and praying I'm incorrect as I am new to chickens

Can you post pictures of them?

We just got two baby Silkies, they are the cutest little fellers! LOL! We don't know at this time if they are male or female, but we are hoping they are one of each as we would love to maybe take a shot at breeding them? We have them in the house right now under a lamp with 7 new baby Australorp we just got today, and they are enjoying mingling with them!

At 4 weeks they are too young to sex with any certainty . Both sexes ' spa ' and this behavior is all part of growing up. :)

Hi all! These are my Christmas babies I was wondering what the partridge might look like when full grown? Has anyone had any similar ones? Looks like they are starting to get darker adult feathers under all the fluff, also how does the blue look? Thank you!

So beautifully! I know nothing about color quality but do know they're full coloring usually comes in after the first molt.

We got 7 silkies yesterday!!! After a bit I will go out and get pictures! I got 2 pairs. One is supposed to be buff- but it looks more like partridge to me. (I am new to silkies though) and one pair of whites... I'm not sure if they're splash or paint or if they're just poor quality whites. I got one black rooster, one white rooster, and one partridge- not sure if it's a rooster or hen. (Some have single combs- so I'm a little bummed, but I should be able to breed that out- right?) Today I will be checking toes and such. It was late when we got home.
Then- I have the silkies in the brooder.
To top it off!!! Two silkie eggs pipped!!!

Okay- here's the roo that I believe is a - splash?
And is that the right color/type of comb? A dark red or mulberry color?

can I breed and get that out of the offspring?
Aside from comb- how else does he look?
