Silkie thread!

Nice size eggs for small chicken. Mahalos for your pic's of chicken, size of eggs compared to other breeds.

We didn't want a dog or a cat again and DH never had chickens before so we got a couple Silkies as pets. But the Silkies surprised us with a lot of big eggs for bantams. Visitors can't believe they are chickens when they first see fluffy Silkies in the backyard. It's always fun watching foraging chickens in the yard.

Are these silkies growth stunted in new to chickens so I didn't know whenever to put them on all flock and I just saw someone talk about they're supposed to be on chick till 18 weeks. (To late now) one rooster and one hen. They've been on it since around 11 weeks they are now 18 weeks (HQ). Is there also any reason he was such an ugly chick compared to her? Second pic of each chicken is the chick pics.

Growing chicks need protein for the new feathers that will be coming in and then they will have a juvenile molt in which their more adult feathers will come in. Feather growth needs protein supplementation. Chick starter feed is good to keep them on it. Some children's liquid no-iron Poly-Vi-Sol vitamin drop on the side of their beak a couple times a week helps w/ vitamin supplementation during chick growth, molting, broodiness, or illness.

Is Wilma's chipped beak growing out okay?
