Beauty is gorgeous, but are those Cuckoos I see in the periphery of those pics?

Question for all you other Willie owners out there. How long after a hen stops brooding (no eggs hatched) will she start laying again?
I ask because I got a hen who had just finished Brody when I got her. One more week and I will have had her a month. She hasn't laid a single egg for me yet

My Silkie pullets started laying gang-busters 5 and 6 eggs a week until they went broody or molted. After that there was no rhyme or reason to when they started laying again. I've had them start laying again anywhere from 3 months to as long as six months. But then, I've only had two Silkies for six years.

I was just wondering if anyone else has to clip there chickens nails?? Bear is a older chicken I got from my friend! I noticed she was walking funny when I looked at her feet her nails where curled so I clipped them I hope that's ok

u bet it's ok. U have to clip them they can't.

Yes I agree. I have bought some birds who were walking funny because their nails were to long. One of them had a nail that had curled right under. If it had of grown like that much longer then it would have gone through her foot

I just got 4 silkie chicks. They are only a day old. I also have a group of 5-6 week old chickens of various breeds ( barred, rir, leg horn, Cochin, Orpington, Easter eggers). When they are old enough and the weather cooperates should I try to integrate the two groups or have a separate coop for the feathered feet chickens?
