Typically 8 weeks is the time you put chicks outside. But if your putting them in with bigger chickens, then you will want to wait until the silkie chicks are similar in size to the other chickens.

Thanks, just wanting to know a safe time to kick them outside. Will set up alone until laying. Possibly forever depends on other chickens

i have two silkie hens. they have always been mixed with flock of 1/2 bantams and 1/2 large fowl. they are not the ones who get picked on. they are kind of loners. i call them my Zen chickens...they seem very happy unto themselves. they bother no one and no one bothers them. they seem to like people better!

yes I do and he has awesome silkies. He is in Madison Indiana. I drove 3.5 hours to get his chi Ken's twice. They r nice quality. If u tell him I sent ya (Janie) his name is Nathan crumley he has his girls on Facebook just search crumley farms I will get u numberif u r interested
