Anyone else setting eggs today for a New Year Day hatch?

I set eggs up on the 1st so no New Years hatch but close lol

Don't think so. I know the only bird I have with a very hooked beak is female. I just had to file on it today.

Just from this pic I'd guess towards female. Zero wattle sign. Need side view of body and comb view

Here you go, taken this morning. The side view isn't great but she was running up and down the cage bars and wouldn't settle down. It should give an idea of her posture though.

I have 4 silkies all about 4 months old and was wondering sex. They aren’t feed store silkies I bought from a Breeder and have found it a heck of a lot harder to tell sex. One of the three is about half the size of the rest of them. “Cool is dirty that was before I cleaned it, it’s also a temporary home just moved them into the big coop”. Thank you everyone for the help.

How old? Age makes a difference on comb looks.

She's about 9 weeks old now.

11 of my Silkie eggs went bator today for a New Years hatch. Had to pull the other batch as they were still clear on day 17. Let’s hope 3rd times a charm. I’m determined to get chicks. Santa is bringing me a new bator too.

That red and as large of a comb at 9 weeks, I'd say male. Cross your fingers that it's an early developing female.

In my line the fully adult females have combs like that. I dont know how it runs in the line that bird is from

At 4 months I'd say female. The partridge color sexes them as female. The black could be a slow developing boy, but I think female
