Silkie thread!

A box of chocolates, with silver and gold gene expressed. My guess as such a young age is boy only because girls don't express both genes. They only have one or the other and most of the time hide any leakage they may be carrying.
What a beauty... I can't wait to follow this developmentšŸ˜
Well, everyone was correct and I was in denial 😩

He's got a lot of silver which is very pretty & the boys evolve w/ so many vibrant color changes.

Here's a 7 month Gold/Blue Partridge cockerel & pullet we had in 2011. He was so sweet but we aren't zoned for roo's so we had to give him upā˜¹ļø. But he took his gentlemanly guard duties very seriously & let ladies go 1stšŸ˜€

The EE/silkie chicks are a little over a month old now, and have graduated to the biggest size pen I’ve got before I kick them out.

Which means I really need to make the final design decisions and finish the stinking coop. The walls are up and hardware cloth is on; we stalled out on the roof but I’m going to start cutting and putting up the supports for it. After the roof is up, I just need to finish out the nest boxes and install a coop door.

LI also think I may buy some hinges and make it so the coop floor swings open like double doors to dump the bedding on the ground when it’s time to change it? I am not married to that idea yet; the alternative is that I have a bigger front access door that stays locked until it’s time to clean, and then that swings open and I have to rake out all the bedding.
