Sonoran.... yes it definitely does make you think twice about being in the barn alone. I live in town and rent a farmplace. Somedays when I have off, I need to catch up on cleaning pens and stuff. I'm out in that barn by myself even into the evening hours. You don't know how creepy it feels not knowing if you are going to walk in on someone or if someone will just come walking in on you. I try to bring a family member with now and they fully understand. They just don't want to sit out there for hours on end like I do. I now have 2 pretty big dogs out there full-time and another that stays with me in the house and goes to the barn too. This isn't the first time something has happened at that show. Connie had a black silkie pullet stolen a few years ago at that same show. She was in the awards ceremony and someone was out there helping themselves. Zip ties were cut. Someone was spotted out there cooping out early. Connie filed a complaint and show officials wouldn't go on lockdown nor was that person's trailer searched. I heard an East Indies was also stolen that year but don't know all the details there. This year it was Ulvins of Kilmallie Farms. They filed the complaint and was told by Adrian Rademacher that it was "just a duck" and they weren't going to do anything about it.

At our show, we made all exhibitors use only 1 door to bring birds through this year. It kind of teed off the waterfowl people because they had to walk so far now. They used to be able to park by one of the back entrances and coop in from there. How do you monitor and keep track of 3-4 entrances though? This was instigated more by the new health paperwork restrictions for us. State of MN is now asking for even waterfowl to be banded and PT tested up here now. It served as a security measure too though to make sure people's bands on the birds matched their paperwork too.

My birds are great. Getting ready for a show in January.
Here is one of my boys I hatched this year. So proud of him. Really nice bird. I do have another like him, just the comb is smaller.
