That's what I was thinking. The only 100% blue results come from Black x Splash breedings. What color are the hens you are breeding him to?

A black hen.

I didn't give him a second thought on color, thought he was black. Then seven chicks hatched, all blue. That's when I pulled back his feathers and thought . . . well, that's when I realized he wasn't black.
