Silkie thread!

I seen a few hawks flying around today. My Mom said there is alot of them now b/c they migrate? I don't know, I'm glad nobody lost any chickens!

Yes, some hawks migrate, and this is a time to see a lot more than usual. Crows will not normally attack chickens, although small chicks without a watchful mama hen or rooster might become prey. But for the most part, it is good to have crows around as they will chase hawks away.
 
My hawks like it here!! They don't migrate, so we get to worry about them all year but I have covered the top of my pen and they do not free range.

I also have problems with Magpies too.
I thought they wouldnt as well but its mating season for them over here.
 
I have a family of 4 crows been living here for two years . I think they kinda keep the hawks away. And they sound alarms.
