Gorgeous as always!!! Oh and I want in on the waiting list for some Lavender Muscovys for next year if you will be selling any! They are so pretty! I have been wanting them forever and hubby just started on the fence last week!
Random question...it looks like the pigeons do fine with the chickens...I have always wanted a pair of fancy chickens, something obnoxious like fantails or the ones with the curly breast feathers or something. What do you have to provide them to do well with the chickens?
I'm hoping to get a few babies out of them as well next spring. Kurt had brought a pair to the show last fall and they were snatched up before I could grab a carrier and get my butt over there. This year I got 2 pair of them and a black hen out of that same mating.
Last year skunks and coons kept raiding all their nests. I got my first muscovy duckling just 2 weeks ago. I really didn't like the idea of raising ducklings going into winter so sold them. Now I found another black and white pied sitting on eggs.
Some of the hard core pigeon fanatics make it sound like rocket science to raise pigeons. I can't seem to kill the buggers. They eat the same pellets and mash as the chickens. I vaccinate them for PMV and paratyphoid once a year. The silkies get along with them great because they don't roost and thus don't disturb their nests. Once the squeakers are on the ground I'll often find them cuddled up with the silkies too. Each breed has their own personality too. My overall favorite has been the pomeranian pouters.

Your silkie mixes are very pretty boys! I thought you might enjoy browsing this chicken color calculator. It has drawings of dozens of different colors.

You can bath a silkie in any kind of human shampoo unless it has lice or mites then use a flea & tick shampoo. You can blow dry or under heat lamp. But my silkie just falls asleep while being blow dried.
