I had come across this as well, when I had my single comb rooster a lot of the chicks I had hatched from my last hatch had single combs.
I think out of 10 chicks 6 or 7 had the single comb.

I wanted to share a picture of my blue girl, Lava. She is 4 months this week and turning out so special!
Some of you may remember that she was born chipmonk colored. I still don't know what that means for her off-spring.
She has huge fluffy feet that are so fun and she is exceptional sweet natured!

Partridge can be on ground-color eb/eb and e+/e+ or the mix eb/e+. Normally when you write partridge these are based on gold.
Since the gene lavender (lav/lav) dilute both pigments black and red you could become in second generation what we call in EU "Isabel", a very subtile coloration. All black is than lavender and all red/gold become cream.
