Silkie thread!

Here are my 13 silkie chicks hatched last Thursday...and this is going to be their little shack for when they can go outside ....

Your babies are sooooooo adorable!! And, I just love your little shack!

Is this a good rooster to breed with my buff hens. I'm a little new to the silkie world.

County Boy, I don't know what your girls look like, or what you are looking to breed for, but I Would find a different roo.
He is cute, but I do see alot of flaws.
Are the girls bearded?

Is this a good rooster to breed with my buff hens. I'm a little new to the silkie world.

If you are only wanting pets for yourself, he's fine.

If you want to improve your hens and get nicer quality birds - no I wouldn't use him to breed ever. He looks like a hatchery silkie?? Why I wouldn't breed him : he has a hard tail like a 'normal' chicken, not a silkie tail...his comb and wattles are red - they should be purple to black in color. He lacks in crest as well.

I don't want to come across harsh or mean - please don't think that, I am just being honest with what I see in this bird.

Thanks everybody from replying. I don't think anybody is being mean and that's why I posted him. All my hens are non bearded except one, my favorite. Also, where can i get a nicer roo.
