Silkie thread!

So, just take it somewhere humid and then I can pop the divider in? That's a good idea. This is all so nerve-wracking, it's like hatching for the first time! lol Good thing it's also fun!!!

Just make sure you walk very slowly and don't trip over the dog!

What a terrible situation! Is there a chance they will get to on time or is it already too late?

If she gets them hatched by next week, we should be safe. Her birthday is the 15th. It is breaking my heart, because she talks about them every single day. They were the only chickens she wanted.

thanks. BW, she LOVES seeing all of the pictures of the silkies posted here. She asks everyday to see them.

Sometimes I think I should just bite the bullet and order a few more just in case. But knowing my luck, I will end up with ALL roos, lol!

no, that is what I mean. I ordered six chicks and if I order more, my luck they will all end up being boys, lol! Hmmm... I might have to talk to hubby tonight to see if he will let me get just a few more so that I know she will have them in time.

It would be good if you could find a couple young, already sexed, pullets. I bought mine that way because I was afraid of getting attached to ones that would end up being boys, and with my luck, I normally get way too many boys.

that would be great. But how do I go about doing that? It seems like 90% of the breeders are only selling eggs, and the rest chicks. I would love to find her even 1 SQ white pullet.

I know what you mean about the boys. I bought 4 SS and 3 of them are roos. I bought 5 BLRW and I think 4 of them are roos! The only ones I KNOW are girls are my sex-links!! lol! That will teach me to buy SR chicks, huh?
