Your not buying sexed chicks are you? I've never heard of sexed silkies except in china.

My Pet Chicken is selling sexed silkies now, fwiw........... $$$$, though.

that would be great. But how do I go about doing that? It seems like 90% of the breeders are only selling eggs, and the rest chicks. I would love to find her even 1 SQ white pullet.

I know what you mean about the boys. I bought 4 SS and 3 of them are roos. I bought 5 BLRW and I think 4 of them are roos! The only ones I KNOW are girls are my sex-links!! lol! That will teach me to buy SR chicks, huh?

I know where a Splash Pullet is up for auction, if you're interested, I'll message you. Other than that, maybe check the auctions and post a wanted ad.

Here is my Nugget at 4 weeks. My hubby thinks it's a Roo because last night Nugget went at one of the other chickens with his/her feet. :/ I'm not so sure that make Nugget a Roo but I guess one of these days we'll find out. LOL
Nugget was looking at my Cat in this one. LOL You can't see it from these pics but on the wings and tail feathers there is specks of black/gray.

Those are the most adorable pictures!! I'm still smiling from ear to ear! Boys and girls both play fight but in my experience the boys do it more often (I watch them a lot!). Looks like you have a buff there but can't tell for sure. It is common though not desireable for buffs to get some black or blue in their wings and and tail and hackles.

Thanks! Nugget didn't want to sit still so I had to take about 20 pictures and only got 2 good ones. LOL I'm not experienced like most people here at BYC with Silkies but I've seen many pictures. I've been thinking lately that Nugget's feather have been looking somewhat buff. Like last week Nugget was really white but last few days not so white. So we'll see. Most of the time Nugget keeps to him/her self but I think Nugget got tired of Mumble picking on everyone. LOL

There is a breeder near me that sells sexed Silkies but they cost $35 to $65 a chick. He DNA test them. He also sells straight run which cost less.
