So even my little blue hen might come in handy somewhere along the way for lavender, correct? If I were to really start from scratch? This hen was sold to me as a lavender, but she is clearly NOT lavender. What is a split lavender? Maybe she has the lavender gene but just came out blue?

I will definitely do more research on breeding silkies in general and make sure I have a good idea of what I'm doing because as of now, I do not.

And I like to do things right when I start a project.

So far, all the chicks have dark beaks and toes, BUT this one... and it's the cutest one!!
Will it get darker? Or my fear.... my poor quality silkie, Cloud, got some quick action one day...

So a couple weeks ago I hatched some chicks and one came out all blue with a huge vaulted skull I noticed yesterday her wing feathers are growing in brown and she has brown on her back as well, what color do you think she is? Maybe a blue partridge?

Are just the toes pink or is the whole foot pink? That beak will likely be just fine.
