Silkie thread!

I sold my first batch of Silkie eggs on e-bay. I was so excited!!! I got $17.50 for 10+ eggs. First time ever selling eggs so I was pretty psyched!

Do any of you know anything about the color Calico in Silkies? I have 3 eggs in the bator that are calico. I also have 2 Porcelain and if they turn out as pretty as yoie's baby I will be pretty excited.

I will be excited with whatever colors I get.

Do you have any more to sell? It could make your second time selling!

I just bought my first Silkie bantams about a month ago, but they are just some hatchery chicks I felt sorry for and bought because I was afraid they would die in the feedstore. Yes, I have sucker written on my forehead. One of them had a crooked foot, but I have it all straightened out now and it looks perfect.

I don't have any really great pictures of them yet (will try and take some this weekend), but here is a silly photo of them with some other chicks. The 2 on the left are Buff-laced Polish, then the middle is a Buff Silkie in back and I think a Partridge up front, the 3rd Silkie, which you can only see the body of is colored between the buff and partridge so no idea what color it will be when grown. The chick on the right is a Mille Fleur D'uccle. Anyway, I put the water base in there with some feed, in addition to their feeder because they like to scratch around in it. When they are done scratching, they sleep in it.

Like I said, I will try and get new pics this weekend. They are starting to get their poofs up top now and look hilarious.

Very luck babies indeed. They went to someone that knows how to take care of them.

I do have more to sell. They are on e-bay right now and will end Sunday night. My father in law is building me a super nice chicken tractor. I have a big nice coop he built me last year but I want to seperate their colors so that I can breed them and know what colors I will get. I recently fell in love with the showgirl silkies. I am crazy about the one in my avatar picture. She/He? is the sweetest baby! I am really hoping it's a she. Maybe I can take some pictures and you guys can tell me what you think? The paint roo that is the same age as the showgirl has an obviously bigger comb and I know he is a roo. The showgirl has no comb hardley at all but at the top of her comb there are two little bumps that look like horns? I can't keep them with the older silkies yet because they pick on them so they are with my 3 week old babies. The little showgirl (I need to name her) fights with the roo that is the same age. I think I have pictures of them fighting. If she was a hen why would they fight unless it's just because they are the same age or something?

I do have a few closeup's of her/him? I hope she's a she...

And the fight begins..... My camera doesn't take good action pictures.

I had chicks last year (my first chicks) that did a lot of fighting. I think it was more play than anything. Most of them grew up to be hens. But I am not an expert and could be wrong with the "fighting" deal.

My paint hen crowed this morning for the first time. Kwan Yin just became Jizo

.

He is almost 4 months old. Not the best picture (goodness I need a new camera!!). I am not disappointed at all that she is a he. Just makes me rethink future purchases.

Awww, what a cute little (paint) fluffball! I know how you feel. I just hatched two little white silkie chicks (my first whites!) and I'm praying they are a pair but it won't matter because I'll keep both of them either way.
