I use steps for my Silkies to get into the coop (it's only about 8 inches high) but as they get older I think they get a kick out of "flying" into the coop. Wings flapping, feathers flying...but they do it over and over again for fun (silly birds).
Mine have never been wild over the Happy Hen treats, but plain yogurt, raisins, grapes, oatmeal, scratch, shredded wheat, hard boiled egg all drive them wild. They all eat their treats out of a big dog bowl and the teeniest ones perch on the side to eat. SO DARLING to watch![]()
Over the years, listening to what one person's flock loves or won't touch for treats versus a different person's flock ha led me to conclude that chickens are like people: they all have their own, individual taste preferences.
