Here is my hatch... 7 out of 14.

That's a really good hatch for shipped eggs. I've had two shippments that none hatched and one that only one hatched. Very cute! And now the chickie fun begins!!

Adorable. My favorite is the one in the top right corner. Reminds me of my Lilo. Next I like the buff.

Here are the legbands I use. They are coiled so they grow with the chick. I bought size 10 because I had some larger chicks I needed to band, but they sell some tiny ones for newly hatched chicks as well. 

I've never seen those before. Where did you get them from?

I have a question for those of you who cull out your pet quality silkies by selling them. I put an ad on CraigsList for two of my pet quality cockerels. I have a response, and I know someone might want to eat them, but figured what the heck. I got the most odd response from someone I don't think speaks English. So now I can't understand what they are really asking in an email and since I can't understand them, I don't even know if I want to sell my birds to them. Do you all knowingly sell birds to people who are going to eat them? I don't know what else to do with these boys if I don't, though.

Thoughts on this?

So many so many pretty pictures... All soo lovely... Been meaning to post pictures of my shwgirls who are now 3wks and my pastires who just turned 4 months but been busy working in the garden adding bamboo fencing, and hanging wildlife netting to try to keep some of the wild birds away from my girls... We lost one of our polish (which im thinking due to lice) not 100percent sure, she was and still is the only one who had lice.... When i noticed her ill... Cleaned her separated and treated everyone, cleaned out all the coops.... She seemed to perk up .... But after doing good for two days she just went slowly down hill... still sad over it all... Everyone else seems to be doing great and no signs of bugs, but i worry the wild birds will bring more bugs if i dont try to do something to keep them out...

Any ways just wanted to say hi... And try to catch up on this very active thread

 So sorry you lost your girl. Glad to have you back on the thread and looking forward to the showgirls!

Aww they are the cutest things.... They remind me of little ostriches.... Took them outside for the 1st time and everytime a car passed they run and duck in the grass...it was too cute wish i had a video camera then.

Hawkeye- I hate to be the bearer of freaky but true news, but Asians are very superstious people. I see frozen silkies for sale in the markets. My mom says some believe eating the flesh brings good fortune and long life...

Okay seeing all these pictures of wet silkies brings up a question of mine. How do you wash their crests without getting water in their little ears?
