This is the first time I'll be trying my luck with ordered eggs. So far I've been hatching my own eggs. But! Time for an upgrade!! lol I've decided to get rid of some of the PQ birds to make room for our Catdance chicks. Hope lots of them hatch and we get lots of nice little chickies.

I'm so excited!! Eggs should be here Wednesday and the hens are ready to sit on more. lol

That's awesome, Sanna!!

Jiminy! I'm so sorry for the double post! How do I remove that first one (with the single pic)??

Here are pix of the second Silkie with the more squarish POOF. Here I go hogging up a whole page!

I think you have it figured out. This one looks like it's getting streamers (boy) and the first one is likely a girl. At the bottom left of your post is a little pencil icon for editing. You can remove the content but not the post.

Penny tried eating a bee today and it stung her in the mouth and she cried and cried and shook her head poor baby :(

How's this shot? Hairs even wet and back. Boy or girl?

I have hatched out Catdance Silkie eggs before (I live within driving distance) and the silkies were absolutely gorgeous with very good dispositions. We sold them unfortunately and now I want more. But DH said no for now. :(

I had to put in a good word for her as she has very good silkies IMO.

That's awesome, Sanna!!

Thanks guys!
I've only read good things about Catdance here on the forum and I liked her birds on the website, so I thought I'd go with Catdance.

We have lots of people here at the farm very excited about these eggs. I'm probably more thrilled than anyone! lol

My silkies love watermelon too...but it sure makes a mess of their feathers...

Poor Penny! Ouch! Well she be OK?
If I had to guess the gender of your splash chick, I would say rooster...

. But, that is only a guess while seeing it's crest feathers slicked back, noticing development of it's pea comb and not knowing the age. My avatar is a 4-month old splash named Cleo Patra -but it may well be Cleon!

Thank you, Peepblessed! I am overrun with roos at the moment without a hen in sight! I would think that it was something in the water if they had all been hatched out here, but that is just not the case

I love 'em all, anyway...

I think Penny will be fine so far no swelling. Thank goodness. The dang bees are coming out with this heat. I think my little paint might be a boy too but he/she is only four months. Cleo patria is adorable. :)
