I hope the crest will cover it like yours! Every times I have a new batch something is wrong with at least one chick (in that case it's not that bad). Is it pretty normal? or is it just bad luck?

Maybe not every hatch but there certainly seem to be enough problems that I take notice. But as a "breeder", I'm also a culler so I take note of the issues and the genes involved and move on -- and thank my lucky stars every day for the swanky birds I DO have!!

Aoxa it's actually a traditional dish (veal) from there. That is why I ask ;) . And there are quite a few of french who migrated to Canada
Aoxa was a made up name I cam up with when a friend and I decided to take letters out of the alphabet at random and create a funky name. This was when we were 9 years old. We used to make cartoon stories and Aoxa was my character. I've used it for a very long time. I've never heard that it was a dish as well! Cool :)

Our two white hens keep thinking they're hatching eggs again...and they have no eggs! lol We collect them every day. But they still insist on sitting in the corner of their coop. And they barely come out for food. Gotta love the broody silkies.
