Silkie... Tips and PICTURES!!!!

Hello All,

I am getting a white silkie on the week of August 20th...

I'd like to know how silkies get along in a flock of regular sized chickens, because this hen is the only one I am getting. Also, do they do well free ranging, or should I keep her in the run?

Please post any tips or tricks! I'd love to see pictures too!

The others might not accept her so add her in while they sleep. Be careful, they could peck her to death

What I meant was that I am only getting one silkie in my batch of 6... I am getting her and the other five at the same time...

Chickens that grow up together don't seem to notice differences as much as when you introduce a new one into an existing flock, but you never know...just keep an eye on them.
