Silkie toes question

I have black silkies hatching in the incubator - the first and only to hatch only have 4 toes on each foot, but the eggs were sold to me as "Pure Silkies" - so what's up??

Some times that happens i think

4 toes is a recessive that crops up occasionally.

I took the chick out to put it in the brooder and upon further examination - all toes present and accounted for - we have 5 on each foot!!

I have had that happen occasion--they are so tiny, and the toes even tinier that I don't count correctly until a week or two later.
