Silkie Toes

I had a chick hatch that had two toes fused together, giving the appearance of having four toes. Genetically, doesn't it still have five toes? Also, are fused toes passed on, or is it an incubation issue?

The bird does genetically have 5 toes, so as long as you're going to breed the bird to one with great toe separation, you should be fine.
