Last night when I got home from work I let the chickens out to free range for a while. My little dog Leo was with me when I opened the coop door. Like always, they all ran out like a bunch of lunatics. The younger ones were all rushing past the dog. My 3 month old silkie, named Poof Head, ran right up to the dog and STUCK HIS HEAD IN THE DOG'S MOUTH!! The dog was a bit surprised and a little agitated by it. He then chastised Poof Head a little by gently pulling back and then pretending to bite the bird's neck. He just slightly laid his teeth on him like a warning. I said, "Leave it," and the dog immediately stopped. Poof Head just stood there a moment looking at the dog, and then he toodled off on his merry way with the other chickens. Maybe the chickens were playing Truth or Dare. Maybe he was trying to commit suicide. Maybe he's just stupid. I don't know. I thank God that Leo has a low prey drive.

This was a very funny/scary story, and a brilliant follow-up by D.K.

Leo is actually allergic to chicken. Perhaps it's more of an intolerance than an allergy. I don't know. Whenever he eats anything with chicken in it he gets an infection in his pancreas. He is also an epileptic, so he can have seizures when he gets sick too.

Maybe Poof Head was trying to get a circus act together, like the guy that puts his head in the lion's mouth. Hopefully, if Poof Head meets another dog, he won't be stupid enough to try that stunt again. I don't imagine most dogs being so understanding.

Poor Poof Head. Nobody stops to think that he might have dreams of his own. It's not easy being a Silkie and wanting to be a Dentist.
