That is too funny. lol Unfortunately, if this same situation occurred with my dog (three-year-old German Shepherd), the chicken would definitely lose. My dog has already displayed signs of chasing toward my pullets. I have been doing some training with him so I am hopeful, but I definitely will never leave him alone with the chicks.
Glad the chicken was ok and the dog didn't hurt it. Maybe the chicken wanted to be a stunt man/chicken? I have 1 dog that would listen to me but my other would say lunch time. That's why I make sure the one dog is put away whenever I let the chickens loose to run around. She does ok if they are penned up but in her mind chickens not behind a fence are deemed lunch. Glad everything worked out I also have an epileptic dog. It's scary when they have siezures.
* Wow!! First dog I ever heard of with a poultry allergy!! Samson, the akita/wolf mix we had when I was a kid once stole and ate an ENTIRE 14 lb. turkey my mom was thawing and planning to fix for Thanksgiving!
