Hello all,
My 6 year old silkie has been tucking her head under her left wings a lot lately. She is blind from her right side (when we took her to the vet initially he said that that was because something hit her eye as there was a white spot in the eye). However, similar symptoms are appearing in her left (normal eye too). For example, she doesn't open her left eye alot any more and we recently found yellow gunk near the edge of the eye which looked a lot like pus (she had a lot of pus in her right eye as well before she went blind). There is no white spot in this eye however.
She eats as long as we put the food right under her and still has an appetite. And recently shes been keeping both eyes shut and pecks around until she finds food (though she only does this indoors. She keeps her eyes open when shes in the backyard).
Does anyone have any idea what might be going on or have a chicken that has gone through a similar situation?
I would take her to the vet but our last visit alone cost us in the mark of $400 so I am trying to avoid the expense.
Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

(Her good left eye. She doesnt open it any further than this)
(Her left bad eye. She went blind roughly 6 months ago)
