Silkie wattle question

In blue silkies, (actual blue not black or splash) if the wattles start to turn red does that mean it’s definitely a dude?

No, red wattles are not a male specific trait. Females that are laying or approaching laying have red wattles. But a pure Silkie should have dark mulberry wattles rather than red.

What age? Silkies are extremely difficult to sex before 4-5 mos of age and sometimes not till they crow or lay eggs.

Some you can tell mildly early but most are a mystery until a crow or egg.

The earliest I was able to tell was 4 weeks and so far the latest is 6-7 months.

My sweetie sweetums are 8 weeks old now. I'm suspicious because only one of the four even HAS wattles and they're reddish. I posted pics in another thread...my two grays are shaped like tennis balls and have full puff heads and no wattles but my blues hardly have puff heads and this one of the two...tryin to grow wattles when I'm not lookin....lol
