My bearded silkie is almost 7. She had a hard growth on her beak that recently was getting larger. I went out to take a picture to post, and it has fallen off! Her beak now has a hole that may be infected. (See photos). Is this a hole? Her nostril? If yes - it is much larger than the one on the other side.
She shows no signs of distress - eating, drinking, very active, normal poop, out with the other chickens.
I have 6 other chickens - none have had a similar growth.
Any idea what this was? Is? Is there something we should be putting on the nostril / hole in her beak? Should she see a vet?
