Hello I have a very handsome bearded silkie bantam, however he has a very odd comb. It’s almost like a small, crinkled single comb. He is not mixed with anything and his parents both had the standard walnut combs. So what’s up with his comb? And I’m guessing I wouldn’t be able to show him because of it, right?

I apologize that the photos aren’t very clear, I’ll try to get some better ones tomorrow. But I’d love some input for now!

Somewhere back in the genetic make up there is some non silky DNA. Not at all unusual if his parents were hatchery sourced. A high percentage of TSC silkies have single combs.

His parents actually came from an amazing breeder, Kristal from fish mt farms.

That’s why I’m surprised this comb showed up.

Wow, that is truly a surprise. I've seen many pictures of her birds - truly beautiful.
