Silkie with swollen eye

Happend 3wks ago,took her to vet,she was on antibiotic 10 days with eyedrops,off meds for a week and her eye is swelling again and shes been droopy again,vet said 3 wks ago her lungs were clear,been feeding her real well,shes in the house with me but shes feeling funky again,I gave her some tylodox this am,its no use taking her to the vet,he didn't expect her to get better,any sugestions

I wish I had some good suggestions for you. I'm not sure if my experience can be of any help. I am a novice who has had to learn as I go. I have a silkie that is now a house chicken. She went blind due to an eye infection shortly after I got her. I was able to get an eye wash and Terramycin eye ointment at Tractor Supply that I used until the infection was gone. She lost her sight but can see shadows and bright lights. She seems very happy in her big cage, I keep her food and water in the same spots and use a fine pine bedding to keep her from tripping. We use a metal cat bowl for the food and taught her to find it by tapping on the metal and we use a chick waterer with a shorter jar (salsa jar fit perfectly) for stability. Most days she spends slowly twirling in circles while singing or preening her fluff in the sunshine coming through the window. I wish you luck with your fluffy friend. Prayers for your silkie.
