silkie with worms?

Hi all,
I just got back from the Stockton Poultry Show and brought home 3 pretty partridge silkies. They're in quarantine right now, in a chicken tractor away from the flock during the day and a plastic box in the garage at night.
When I put them out in the chicken tractor this morning I found this in the plastic box:

Is it worms? I paid quite a bit for this trio and I'm REALLY mad if someone sold me a wormy chicken... I feel like freecycling them!!

Any help appreciated!

yeppers thats worms alright. not a big deal if you treat them immediately. I have no experience with worms myself, I worm mine twice a year because they free range. Wazine17? is what i use but its only good on certain types of worms. There are other broad spectrum wormers out there but they can get kind of spendy. It could be the result of being wormed before the show and this is them passing the worms too. Is there any way you can contact the person you bought them from to be sure? I wouldn't want to overdue it if the previous owner already wormed them.

grrrr... I am so mad! I bought two of them from this cute girl (maybe 10 years old?) and another from a woman who charged me $35 for a partridge roo (a beautiful one but still).
Surely they had to know that the birds had worms when they sold them to me!
Makes me regret getting them in the first place. Now I'm going to have to spend more money on them to worm them and figure out someplace to dump the poop that won't get near my other birds. Sigh....
Should I burn their litter? How can I prevent it from spreading? Should I keep them in the box at all times or is it okay to let them out on the ground as long as it's safely away from my other girls?

hmmm.... I wonder if maybe they did worm them. Wish I could contact the sellers, but I don't have their information. Should have thought to write down phone numbers.
That is a BIG worm for such a little chicken. And I'm surprised that it would just come out in their poop like that without worming... but then again I know absolutely NOTHING about worms.

worm eggs are everwhere. You should not be mad at the people who sold you the chickens. If the chickens are visually healthy and solid, you should be happy. I raised some birds that I hatched from eggs and wheaned them in a cage and they still had worms. all animals will get worms and I think it is unavoidable. if you can contact the owners ask them if they have been wormed (I think so from the pics) If not just do it yourself.

Yes, those are worms. Not long ago I found them in my modern game bantam. I had no idea she had them until she passed one and I was lucky enough to find it. Once expelled, it seemed to dry up and shrivel up to nothing very quickly. Give a dose of Ivomec Eprinex Pour-on. You put it on the back of the chicken. I used 1/4cc for bantams and 1/2cc for standards. Works like a charm. Dont be mad at the seller, they really may not know. Glad you found them, now you can treat them.

Looks like worms...eww.

We bought a cat at a pet shop that had huge tapeworms once. I couldn't believe they were so big. Hope you have good luck getting rid of them. I have DE ordered right now just to keep nastys away.
