Silkie

I have been wanting to get new chicks but I have really been wanting a silkie my one question is, are they a good type of chicken? Specifically, will they easily get leg mites because of there furry legs? Or will they get Diseases because of their legs? I really want one because I know they are kind and love humans but I don't want them to be having diseases in my coop? But we don't have a lot of chickens 4 at the most. They're not dirty. So if I keep my silkie in a clean good environment is she less likely to get leg diseases?

Leg feathers shouldn't really impact whether or not they pick up extra parasites, as long as they're kept in clean conditions like you mentioned.

What kind of chickens do you already have? I hope you don't plan on getting just 1 chick, it'll be difficult to integrate in with the others and will be very lonely growing up.

oh, we will end up introducing her to one chicken if you read my other article and we got her along with three other chickens so she will not be alone.
