I bought two chicks from a woman in late may (they hatched may 5th) She said they were both silkies.. Well my female is definitely silkie. She's just a big fluff ball, five toes, black legs, furry feet. No mistakes there.. But the other one isn't fuzzy. He has a little bit of fuzz right above his legs but other than that almost nothing. No fuzzy feet. His feathers feel silkie... but silkies don't have feathers. I'm a little confused. Is he maybe mixed with something? Or just not silkie at all ? Here is a picture of him.. When he was a little he had more fuzz, but nothing now.. Did I get ripped off? He's still my baby, I'm not gonna get rid of him if he's something else. Just wanting to know WHAT to call him :p

Well he is not a silkie but he looks part old english blue and the other half my be blue silkie, click the thumb up button if this has been helpful

a sizzle is a frizzle x silkie the silkie x cochin around here is called a silkiechin (sp)

A Sizzle is a frizzled Cochin x Silkie. The first generation throws chicks that have silkie feathers, smooth feathers, and frizzled feathers. The ones I have are first generation. I got 6 chicks. My 2 cockerels are frizzle feathered, 2 pullets have smooth feathers like the one the OP posted, and 2 other pullets have Silkie feathers. I'm not sure at what generation you stop getting Silkie feathers, but I believe when they breed true they will only come out with smooth and frizzled feathers. They are trying to make Sizzles breed true right now so they can be a breed. These threads give some info on them https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/101486/sizzle-frizzle-and-frazzle. http://www.chickencrossing.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=2372.
