I set four silkie eggs under a broody and she hatched all four. I set 22 eggs in my Brinsea and 15 hatched. Why can't the results be the same?!
Broodies are better, IMO, but I like being able to do it myself in the bator.

she still lays several eggs a week tho. My white silkie hen from Meyer has gone broody twice. She raised 3 chicks the first time. Th second one I broke because I have no need for more chicks. You'll have more broody silkies than you'll want. Trust me. They're very persistent.
