You can trim crooked beaks. With dog clippers, I think. I had a bantam Cochin who had a crooked beak her entire 5 year life. It was super long this year, but it doesn't seem to have effected her eating or drinking

Oooh 6 wk old silkies are gonna be tricky. Look for larger comb, streamers in tail feathers(basically longer feathers), slicked back comb. They're very tricky
