Hi all,

I have my 4 little delightful silkies growing up. They stick together ... it's funny how my different kinds of poultry and different chickens actually seem to know and stick together by breed very often.

Anyway, they are so tame and quiet. They only make little peeping noises that I can barely hear. They are all feathered out in their fluff now. I can't see ANY comb in the little fuzzy knots on top of their heads. Are cockerels very different from pullets in silkies? I can't hope that I am blessed enough to have 4 pullets???

Thanks much!

Mine are pretty quiet... till they lay an egg!!! Then they cackle just like the big chickens till the clueless rooster escorts her like he should to the rest of the flock. Once the little man found his voice, he started to crow too. But unlike my production standards, took him about 4 months to do so. Crowing and then having a 30lb turkey gobble back at his face probably didn't help his confidence too much on the first few attempts. LOL

LOL thanks for the info, silkie! I was hoping if I had to move to a "quiet zone" these little ones could come with me. I still hope so.

I know the geese will never make it in a place like that, nor the ducks, and I don't want to lose them ALL.

Thanks again,

trish

My one silkie is pretty quiet. And she can be carried around, she likes hugs and kisses. She's the first silkie I've had and she is so sweet. She is all white and not a full poofy head. I forgot now what it is called. She is riding my horse in my avatar!

I have one too. She is sweet and quiet en nice to everyone.
Silkies are one of our favorite breed. My kids love her.
