I have no actually incubated any yet. Although I know it’s possible because I’ve seen the silkie Roos are able to do it. I did actually do one rhode island red and silkie cross. He is beautiful, but normal skin color, extra toe, walnut comb, red type of feathers, but feathered feet and stayed the size of a bantam. Unfortunately I just recent rehomed him because I didn’t want him penned up along and I couldn’t have him crossing more, plus idk what if any genetic malformation could result. But my one friend loved him so she added him to her flock.Welcome to BYC! You have beautiful chickens. Have you tried breeding a silkie rooster to a leg horn hen? I believe the mix would yield black skin females and yellow skinned males? I'm a fan of experiments and I'd love to see that mix.
